Terms of Service

These terms govern use of HomeOwnio, provided by [Company legal name] (“HomeOwnio,” “we”). By using homeown.io or a community portal hosted by HomeOwnio, you agree to them. If you use HomeOwnio on behalf of a homeowners association (“HOA”), you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for it.

The service

HomeOwnio provides private online portals for HOAs, including a message board, messaging, documents, calendar, meetings, a directory, contact and gate information, and dues tracking. Features may change over time. Some features are marked “coming soon” and are not yet available.

Accounts

• Your HOA decides who may join its portal and what role each person has.
• Keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell your HOA or us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.

HOA responsibilities

• The HOA is responsible for the accuracy of its records, for whom it grants access, and for complying with its governing documents and applicable law, including notice, meeting, records and collection rules.
• HomeOwnio is a tool. It does not give legal, accounting or tax advice, and it is not a substitute for an accountant or attorney.

Acceptable use

Do not use HomeOwnio to harass anyone, post unlawful content, share others' private information without permission, attempt to access data you are not authorized to see, or interfere with the service. HOAs and HomeOwnio may remove content or suspend access that violates these terms.

Your content

You and your HOA keep ownership of the content you add. You give HomeOwnio permission to store, display and process it only as needed to provide the service to your community.

Payments

When online payments are available, dues are paid to your HOA through our payment processor, and the HOA is the recipient of those funds. Questions about amounts owed, late fees or refunds should go to your HOA. Any fees for HomeOwnio itself are set out in the HOA's agreement with us.

Availability and changes

We work to keep HomeOwnio available and secure but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may update these terms and will post changes here.

Ending use

An HOA may stop using HomeOwnio at any time under its agreement with us. We may suspend access for violations of these terms or non-payment of HomeOwnio fees.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability
