Frequently asked questions

›Who is HomeOwnio for?

Self-managed homeowners associations, especially volunteer boards with roughly 10 to 150 homes that want one simple place for residents.

›Is our community's information private?

Yes. Portals require sign-in and are hidden from search engines. Each HOA's data is kept separate at the database level, and every file download is checked against the viewer's role.

›Do residents need to remember a password?

No. Residents can sign in with a one-time link sent to their email. They can also set a password if they prefer.

›Can we use our own domain?

Yes. Every community gets a yourhoa.homeown.io address, and can point its own domain (like yourhoa.org) at its portal.

›Can residents pay dues online?

Not yet. Today boards can bill households and record check or cash payments. Online card and bank payments are coming soon, and money will go directly to your HOA's own account.

›Will you help us move from our old website?

Yes. We'll help import your residents, documents, photos and calendar from your current site or files.

›Who can see gate codes?

Each household sees only its own codes. Community-wide codes, such as delivery codes, can be limited to admins, the board, or all residents.

›Does HomeOwnio replace our accountant?

No. HomeOwnio tracks dues charges and payments, but it isn't a full accounting system. Keep your accountant and bank records as they are.

›Can the board keep some things private?

Yes. Documents, meetings and info pages can be marked board-only or admin-only.

›How do we get started?

Book a walkthrough. We'll set up your community, import your information, and help your board invite residents.
